What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Gritti Palace is celebrated as a historic landmark offering unparalleled Grand Canal views and exceptional, attentive service, particularly from its concierge team. While the opulent rooms and prime location are consistently praised, some guests have encountered issues with dining access and consistency.
"This historic hotel is a landmark of Venice itself. Enjoy the most iconic view of the grand canal from your suite, or while enjoy food at Club Del Doge restaurant. Want to go shopping, take a gondola ride, or go to the St. Mark's Square? They are all within 10-min walking distance from the hotel. You can't find a better location to stay in Venice.
I loved my suite; the decors felt nostalgic and took me back in history to enjoy the charm of Venice in luxury. Lots of attention to details in the rooms. Food was hit-or-miss in the restaurants and bars, but breakfast was stunning and top-notch.
The concierge service aced the stress test. ITA screwed up my flight schedule hard with 5 delays, but concierge managed a private chauffeur service to the hotel who greeted me as soon as I deplaned. They rearranged all my dining reservations, ensured my travel goals were met, and that I was comfortable and stress-free during the stay.
Overall, I had great experience with them. This hotel is now my go-to for Venice. Among the many five stars I stayed with, this hotel definitely stood out."

"An outstanding hotel! We visited Venice in low season and the hotel was therefore, not too busy. The staff at this beautiful old gem are wonderful. We arrived at the hotel very early and thanks to the amazing housekeeping staff, we were able to have our room within minutes of arrival (and we're so grateful for that after a 3am start that day!).
The bar with its wonderful terrace on the canal is a divine place for cocktails. We could have spent hours there just watching the world literally floating by.
Our room was perfect for our short stay with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Breakfast was a dream and I recommend going down early to enjoy the peace and make the most of the attentive service.
The reception team provided us with the most enjoyable check-in and check-out experiences."

"A Shocking Disgrace for Both the Bar and the Hotel
I have never experienced anything as disrespectful and unprofessional as what happened at this hotel and its bar. We arrived by boat, dressed elegantly and excited to celebrate a special occasion. We even sent our boat away, trusting that a property of this level would welcome us properly.
Instead, we were met with a bar manager whose attitude was shockingly rude, cold, and arrogant. Without any explanation, he refused to let us in — speaking to us in a tone that made us feel as if we were being pushed away from the door.
What makes this even worse is that his behavior wasn’t the exception. The hotel staff around him behaved just as dismissively, offering no assistance, no courtesy, and absolutely no sense of hospitality. For a place that markets itself as refined and exclusive, this level of attitude is downright unacceptable.
Our celebration night was ruined, and all of us left feeling embarrassed, upset, and stunned by how poorly we were treated.
Avoid this place at all costs.
Do NOT come here.
Both the bar and the hotel staff clearly have no understanding of respect, service, or guest experience."
