"A very peculiar building by the great Andrea Palladio... An unfinished palazzo close to the city center that has become quite iconic with its slender proportions and collosal aspect (regardless of its relatively small facade towards the street). An enchanting "palladiano incompiuto" that recalls how most of Palladio's urban residence were built: in stages, depending on the funding, but always according to the initial project. Nothing was being compromised! Worst case scenario, the working site was halted until further financing from the owner."

"I posted a picture of Palazzo Porto last month while visiting my 80 year old mother there. She told me a story of her mother working in that building during WWII at a telephone switchboard. My mother recalled standing on the balcony on the right as you view the picture looking out over the square while visiting her mom there.
