📍Daibosatsu-rei, Yamanashi prefecture We went up to Mt.Daibosatsu-rei in Yamanashi which is located next to Kanagawa for a day off! Due to a cold wave hitting, the pass was freezing cold like around negative 10 degrees 🥶but thanks to that, we got to see spectacular views with snow covered mountains🏔️ So, the biggest blizzard on record in ten years is forecasted to hit tonight🌨I’ll be at home an...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the spectacular ridgeline views and the natural beauty of Daibosatsu Pass, especially during autumn. The pass's connection to a famous novel adds a unique cultural dimension. While trails are generally well-maintained, some can be muddy, and the weather can be unpredictable and cold, even in milder seasons.

"The ridgeline from Mount Daibosatsu Peak to this pass is beautiful.

Enjoyed the descend with team challengers."

"November 1, 2025, Cloudy, then Sunny

I started my hike from the bus stop in front of the Suzuran Insectarium, ascending via Ushioku-no-Karigahara-Suriyama and Koganezawayama to Mt. Daibosatsu-rei, then descending to Kamihigawa Pass.
The weather was mostly cloudy, and it was a bit disappointing that it only cleared up as I started my descent. There was almost no sunshine, and a strong, cold wind blew in the open areas, making it much colder than the temperature suggested. However, it wasn't foggy, visibility was good, and I was able to see many beautiful views, so overall I was satisfied.
There were quite a lot of hikers, including several guided tour groups. The autumn leaves and Mt. Fuji were so beautiful, so it's no wonder there were so many people. The trail was quite muddy in some places due to the rain the day before, but it was well-maintained and easy to walk on without getting lost."

"It is one of Japan's 100 famous mountains. Normally, if you climb from the west side, it takes 2-3 hours to reach this point, but this time (April 29, 2025), I got off the bus in front of Tanbayama Onsen and reached the summit in just over 5 hours via Nomedawa and Furukonba. Up to this point, you'll be climbing ridges and traverses, so it's a perfect course for self-training. The view from here is nice, but the best is around Kaminariwa!"
