What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Goshoura Cretaceous Museum to be a small but educational experience, particularly enjoying the unique opportunity to hunt for their own fossils with free equipment rental. While some find the exhibits a bit underwhelming compared to larger museums, the hands-on fossil digging is a consistent highlight for families and individuals alike. Planning around ferry schedules is crucial for a successful visit.
"The museum is small and there weren’t any visitors at the time that I visited, but I think the exhibits are pretty cool. And most importantly you get to find your own fossils and equipment rental is free! Isn’t that amazing! We arrived at the museum a bit late because we didn’t check the ferry timing properly, so we didn’t have much time to look for the fossils. But we had so much fun and found many fossils! A great place to spend the weekends with friends and family."

"Underwhelming and lacking in interest. The curators need to take a working holiday to the Natural History museum in London to get some ideas on how to make a museum come to life. It's a shame because it could be so much better! This is supposed to be the flagship Geopark site. Granted, it's a difficult sell but you can do a lot better!"

"A small but educational fossil and geology exhibit."
