Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Ogu Ginza Shotengai for its authentic, old-fashioned charm and the sense of stepping back in time. The unique, privately owned shops and the opportunity to experience local life are major draws. However, some visitors note that many unique shops can be closed during holidays, leading to a less vibrant experience.

"This shopping street is located in the Ogu area of Arakawa Ward. It's not exactly an isolated island, but it's a short walk from Kumanomae Station or Higashi-Ogu 3-chome Station on the Toden Arakawa Line. Once you pass through the gate, you'll find yourself in a lovely old-fashioned shopping street atmosphere. It seems to have been here since the 1950s, and privately owned shops are still thriving to this day. It's one of my favorite shopping streets.
Although it's not pictured, I highly recommend the oden at Kyushuya Kamabokoten, a kamaboko and oden shop."

"It truly has the atmosphere of a shopping street.
You can see the store in front of the store.
It was featured on Takeshi's Genki ga Deru TV📺 not too long ago.
Nothing has changed. This shopping street is doing its best."

"I usually go shopping here, but today I went to the toy library in the middle of the shopping arcade for my grandchild. Children under 3 years old can use it. Reservations are required for 1.5 hour slots. There are lots of toys and they are disinfected after each use. Children who go to nursery school are only allowed to use it on Saturdays. Although it was hard to decide which to buy, the children seemed satisfied as they played with the various toys one after another."
