What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Ashida River Cycling Road for its peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for solo cycling and relaxing walks. The riverside paths offer a serene environment for unwinding. However, a significant drawback is the reported poor water quality and occasional odor in downstream sections, which detracts from the overall natural appeal.
"The water quality is poor and it is regularly ranked as one of the worst in the country.
It is supposed to be a first-class river managed by the government, so I would like to see more improvements. I think the water is clean upstream, but the downstream area around the Sanyo Main Line is quite dirty. And it has been like that for decades. Perhaps because of this, there are large areas of the riverbed where grass is constantly growing.
Apparently 70% of the water is caused by domestic wastewater, but it is not a problem that can be solved by individual efforts."
