What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Global Tower B-Con Plaza for its incredibly affordable price and stunning panoramic views of Beppu, including the unique sight of steam rising from the city's hot springs. The open-air glass deck offers a thrilling perspective. However, the lack of air conditioning, especially in summer, can make the experience uncomfortably hot, and the absence of restrooms within the tower is a minor inconvenience.
"Must see! Better and much nicer views from it than the one on the Main Street, Beppu tower.
It seemed taller, had 2 observation decks, beautiful scenery of the onsens in the hills of town. Much cheaper to go up- 300¥/pp in 2025. The Beppu tower was 800¥/pp. A bit of a walk from city center (30-40min), so best to take a bus."

"If you love a good view, this is a must go. Even better than the Beppu port tower which overlooks the sea. Global tower is 100m tall with a single elevator leading up to a glass deck with no roof. On a windy day it can be scary, but I managed to convince a friend who was afraid of heights to go up and they had a great time. The views are simply stunning on a good day, you can see the steam rising up from the Jigoku Hells in the distance, as well as most of Beppu's major landmarks. It was so nice that we spent 2 hours up there, while everyone else came for five minutes and then went back down. Most of the time we were the only ones up there. The entry is 300 yen for adults and you get a postcard too. Be aware that there are no restrooms on the tower, the nearest one is in the nearby underground parking lot which is not part of the tower. The location is next to Beppu Park, but is about 25 minutes walk from Beppu Station through residential neighborhoods."
