What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is celebrated for its stunning, historic Japanese garden and the magical evening 'sea of clouds' spectacle. Guests consistently praise the elegant atmosphere, exceptional service, and beautifully maintained grounds, making it a tranquil retreat. While its location requires some transit planning, the overall experience is highly recommended for a refined and peaceful stay.
"The hotel, from the moment you walk in, has an elegant atmosphere and excellent service from the staff. When we arrived at the front desk, they greeted us with kindness and courtesy. They found our reservation immediately and informed us—without us even asking—that our luggage was already in the room, as we had used the luggage delivery service within Japan. At first, we were a bit disappointed because we were given a garden view, but at night, when the city lit up across our entire window, the experience became even better.
The garden is stunning; we visited both during the day and at night, took many photos, and the place looked beautiful. On the first day, there were several weddings, which made everything look even more spectacular. We also dined at Il Bistro, and it was an excellent experience. The service was outstanding. They noticed we were speaking both English and Spanish, and communicated with us in all three languages: English, Spanish, and Japanese. The food was great, but the service was even better.
Housekeeping was also exceptional. My children left their toys around the room, and the staff arranged them in a creative and charming way for the kids. Overall, it is a beautiful place with very respectful and kind people. A highly recommended hotel. As for the location, the train station is about five minutes away by taxi or around 13 minutes on foot. Overall, a very convenient location."

"Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo is a beautiful property, and even without staying overnight, visiting its restaurant was worth the trip. The atmosphere is refined and peaceful, and the surrounding garden is the highlight. The moment you step outside, the greenery, walking paths, and carefully maintained landscape create a calm and refreshing environment that feels far removed from the city.
The restaurant offered attentive service and a relaxed dining experience, with dishes presented thoughtfully. It’s a place where the setting enhances the meal, making it feel special even for a short visit.
Overall, Chinzanso is an excellent spot for dining and enjoying a stunning Japanese garden, even if you’re not staying at the hotel."

"Our last days in Tokyo were truly memorable.
The rooms had a perfectly vintage feel, with a dreamy view that made our stay even more special. The garden walk was fantastic and incredibly peaceful, and the swimming pool was great as well — very clean and relaxing.
The only downside is the location. It’s a bit far from the rail stations, so you’ll need to take a bus to reach the nearest one. Other than that, everything else was excellent and we enjoyed our stay a lot.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm, classic, and refined experience in Tokyo."
