Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Ginza Six Rooftop Garden for its stunning, free city views and tranquil atmosphere, offering a peaceful escape in the heart of bustling Ginza. It's praised as a perfect spot for photos and relaxation, especially appreciated by budget travelers and couples. Some note that it can get crowded on weekends and evenings, and dining options within the complex are generally expensive.

"Beautiful, 360º views of the surrounding skyline, including a clear view of Tokyo Tower. Being here is particularly special after sunset when everything is lit up, but I recommend coming just before to get the whole experience.

A serene spot, too. There were a healthy number of people here, but it was a lot less crowded than other rooftop viewing spots I've been to in Tokyo."

Jordan Lee Parker

"Considering number of visitors and amazing 360 view from the garden, the place is so much underrated. You can overview whole Ginza with its pristine architecture, as well as most of the hills of Tokyo and most of the highest buildings including both towers. You can take snacks and drink with you and enjoys views in calmness witting on the wooden bench, which is quite rare in Tokyo! Highly recommended!"

bobo

"Although it was a grey day exploring Tokyo, we still appreciated the Ginza Six rooftop garden—a peaceful, lush green retreat high above the busy streets of Ginza. Surrounded by trees, plants, and well-designed landscaping, it provided a quiet, refreshing escape right in the heart of the city. What impressed us even more was Japan’s smart and deliberate use of rooftop space in dense urban areas, often converting it into vibrant gardens or installing solar panels. I only wish our own government took such a forward-thinking approach when planning for Sydney’s rapidly expanding skyline of high-rise developments!"

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The Ginza Six Experience: More Than Just a Garden

Ginza Six is a premier shopping and dining destination, and its rooftop garden is a sophisticated extension of this luxury experience. Opened in 2017, the complex is designed to offer a blend of high-end retail, diverse culinary options, and cultural attractions. The rooftop garden, specifically, was designed by landscape architect Ryutaro Sekine and features a serene Japanese garden with seasonal plants, a small pond, and seating areas, providing a welcome respite from the urban hustle. InstagramReddit

Visitors often combine their visit to the rooftop with exploring the department store's offerings. This includes browsing designer boutiques, art galleries, and enjoying gourmet food halls. The garden's design aims to create a sense of tranquility and connection with nature, even in the heart of one of Tokyo's busiest districts. It’s a place where you can appreciate the meticulous Japanese aesthetic while taking in the modern cityscape. Instagram

Beyond the visual appeal, the rooftop garden is a testament to how urban spaces can integrate green elements. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking a moment of peace, a unique photo opportunity, or simply a pleasant place to relax. The accessibility and free entry make it a standout attraction in an otherwise exclusive area. InstagramReddit
