What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Echizen Cape for its stunning lighthouse and breathtaking ocean views, especially from the observation decks. The vibrant daffodil blooms in February are a significant highlight, adding color to the rugged landscape. However, some find the lighthouse itself to be small and note that access inside is not permitted.
"Small lighthouse and not much to see (in September at least). I think there are a daffodil like flower that blooms other times)"

"This lighthouse offers a fantastic view.
It stands quite high above sea level, giving it an almost frightening sense of height.
It's a lighthouse that represents the rough Sea of Japan."

"Approximately 16 meters tall, this white lighthouse was first erected in 1940. Built on a small hill, the current building is the second. The surrounding area is well-maintained, giving it the feel of a tourist lighthouse. Visibility is excellent, allowing you to see the ocean at the same time.
The original lighthouse stood near a cliff, with staff cultivating and maintaining fields on the premises. Later, an investigation revealed that the lighthouse was unmanned and lit automatically, and the ground was weak. In 2008, a second lighthouse was erected a little closer to the road. The lens from the original lighthouse is on display at the nearby Daffodil Museum.
Turn off National Route 305 and continue up the hill to find it along the road. The incline is quite steep, so it may be a bit difficult in winter.
Free parking is available. A second parking lot, located a short distance uphill past the lighthouse, is nearby and convenient."
