Cyclists in Tokyo!
"I'd love to try the Edogawa Cycling Road, but it seems a bit far..."
Have you ever felt that way?
It's true that if you try to ride from the city center to Edogawa,
you have to go along a busy main road, and even riding on the sidewalk can be a bit nerve-wracking.
Just that feeling can be discouraging.
But...
For those of you who feel that way, I have a little "trick" I'd like to share with you.
That's "train cycling."
It's just 25 minutes on the Keisei Electric Railway from Nippori Station.
Once you get off at Edogawa Station and exit the ticket gate, you'll arrive at Edogawa CR in just one minute on foot!
It's so easy to get around, even first-time visitors won't have time to get lost.
The area where you get off the station is right around Koiwa.
The moment you step out onto the embankment, the view of the sky and river spreads out before you, and you'll want to take a deep breath.
Heading upstream is a long road that leads towards Misato and Noda.
The views from the top of the bank are spectacular, and just pedaling feels like your heart is lighter!
The Edogawa CR has longer gaps between bridges than the Arakawa CR,
and the road is wide and really easy to ride.
Unlike the Arakawa River, which has many fences, the Edogawa River has open views,
and it even feels like you can see your future far into the distance.
The straight section from Misato to Noda is truly an "exhilarating road"!
The wind and sun await you at the end of the straight road.
Even if you're a fan of the Arakawa River, try switching to the Edogawa River once in a while.
The light reflected on the river's surface and the tranquility are sure to melt away your mental fatigue.
I highly recommend the Edogawa Cycling Road.
It's a very relaxing road that starts from a small station.
The photo below is a view I actually took.
You might even hear the sound of the wind just by watching.
