What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Fujiyama Onsen for its traditional atmosphere and the breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, especially from the outdoor baths. The moderate pricing and relaxing ambiance are frequently highlighted. However, the strict no-tattoo policy for public baths and occasional issues with massage booking or staff communication can detract from the experience for some.
"Front desk is nice but the company they outsource for services is not working together as a team. Front desk rectified my poor experience with a refund and many apologies.

I was told tattoos need to be covered and was sold coverings at the front desk for $20. I did not want to go to the onsen.
I tried to book a lymphatic drainage massage as an alternative service to be respectful of the onsen rules.... and the reception TOLD me I MUST to go into onsen for steam before lymphatic.
The masseuse did not like me! She was fully clothed, staring at me delivering multiple dirty looks, physically pushing our tour guide and speaking aggressively to her in Japanese then in English telling me to GET OUT is unacceptable. I am a naked woman being humiliated in front of multiple other women because... I was told I MUST enter the onsen. Talk about setting me up to fail!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Amazing experience. We loved it so much that we went twice.
They don’t allow tattoos inside, and it’s separate areas for men and women.
The price was very moderate, ¥ 1600 per person on weekdays and ¥ 2000 on weekends.
There’s also a nice view of Mt Fuji from the balcony."

"Crowded and popular amongst locals. The onsen is rustic and the outdoor onsen is nice to chill and relax. There are enough baths to relax and the entire place is meant for relaxing and healing."
