Hi! I'm taking my bestfriend to Japan for the 1st time (it's my 5th time), and we wanted to go to a place we both haven't been to. I know the chance of experiencing snow is slim, but will visiting Aburayama Nature Park still be worth it? ☺️ What's the weather like then? What…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Aburayama Citizen's Forest for its stunning views from observation points and well-maintained trails, though some sections can be challenging. The seasonal beauty, especially fall colors and cherry blossoms, is a major draw, and families appreciate the kid-friendly features like the water play area. Some find the drive long, but ultimately deem it worth the effort.
"Amazing views from various observation points, generally well maintained trails apart from a few - but overall a reasonably challenging hilly hike. I spent 6 hours walking 5 kilometres in a random-ish circle while also staying on the northeast side of the forest and spending a lot of time looking for birds. If you are looking for entrances/exits, use the places with parking as a guide. If you go to where the café and ecology centre are, you can pick up a map which is very helpful."

"Is a very well maintained area. If you are driving here, you could park near the entrance and a parking charge @300¥ for 3 hours.
Well developed track provides you to walk the park in a loop, but if you're going to try to walk to the hill top, you may expect more than 2000 steps from the maintenance management office. Is better to bring along hiking equipment with you.
There are picnic areas, and it is easy to find the toilets."

"First time to come after it renewal. Work is undergoing but I love the nature plus the modernity of the place… water play for the kids was a hit… restaurant food was great and the view is fabulous… :)"
