What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the breathtaking beauty of Fukube Falls, especially during autumn when the foliage is at its peak. The scenic Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road offers a thrilling drive, though some find the toll a bit high. Limited facilities and potential snow closures are noted drawbacks.
"October 10, 2024. The leaves have just started to change color but the waterfall was beautiful! There were almost no people there or on the road so it was very pleasant."

"It's located near Shirakawa-go, midway along the Hakusan Shirakawa-go White Road. We had planned to go the day before, but due to bad weather, we changed our plans at the last minute. Fortunately, the day turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. Fukube Falls is the highlight of the White Road. The 86-meter waterfall is a spectacular sight. The autumn leaves were at their peak, which was great. However, due to heavy snowfall the day before, the road was closed beyond Fukube Falls. As a result, the toll, which normally costs 1,700 yen, was reduced to 1,000 yen. While it's technically a national highway, it's carved through the mountains, so the road is narrow and winding. There were also plenty of snowshoes. Despite this, it was a pleasant drive. Since we left early, it wasn't too crowded. However, on the way back, there was a long line of cars at the toll booth. It's likely to be very crowded. Note that there are no restrooms beyond the visitor center. Be careful."

"It was the end of September, before the leaves had even turned red, so there were few people, cars, and waterfalls. It was the perfect day! ♪
The toll of ¥1700 seemed a bit much, but the dynamic and thrilling road made me feel like I was about to meet the mountain gods. (Motorcycles are not allowed.) I'd love to go again."
