The accessibility via car and the free parking are noted positives. However, the significant mosquito population in summer and challenging trail conditions, including muddy paths and worn wooden steps, are common drawbacks.

"May 26, 2025 ☁️ Temperature: 14°C. I parked my car in the Amagi Kogen Parking Lot 🅿️ (hiker-only, free, with restrooms and shoe-washing facilities 🙏🏻) and hiked the 8km circular trail from Mt. Manjiro (views ✨) to Mt. Manzaburo (views 💦).
The weather was cloudy, so the views weren't the best, but it was still a fun hike, soothed by the fresh greenery and Japanese azaleas 😊 (The rhododendrons had already finished blooming).
In places, the wooden steps had rotted away, creating an athletic course-like effect 😅"

"Exploring the Amagi Traverse
I visited Mt. Amagi just before the rainy season to conquer the Amagi Traverse
Starting from the Amagi Traverse trailhead
The course was tougher than I thought
It was a challenge with a knee bomb
I used my legs from Manjiro to Manzaburo, but after that I enjoyed the pleasant traverse
After leaving Haccho Pond, I had a hard time on the Koruri trail, which was like a variation course to the last Kanten parking lot, and I worked my knees hard
But it was a very good hike to the 100 famous mountains"
