"Former home of foreign Methodist (?) teachers in Hirosaki. Originally constructed in 1890, the current structure dates from 1900, when it was rebuilt after a fire. There is a cafe offering Hirosaki-style coffee on the ground floor. The second floor is furnished as though still in use. One room has a display of artifacts and pictures, although there is minimal English. Before going upstairs, be sure to change into slippers! Entrance is totally free."
