Put your luggage in one of the coin lockers near the travel information center in Hirosaki Station, rent a bike from the Travel information center, go cycling to Hirosaki Castle, park your bike by the entrance to Hirosaki Castle (you can cycle around within the complex unless theres a festival taking place), enjoy mochi+ice cream+green tea in the cafe near Hirosaki Castle. When youre done exploring Hirosaki Castle, visit this Saishoin Temple before you go back to the station to return the rented bike. The whole thing took me around 4 hours. So you can continue your journey to Akita or other nearby towns."
