What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Sayuri World for its unique, hands-on animal encounters, especially the opportunity to feed and interact closely with animals like giraffes and lemurs. Many highlight the free-roaming nature of the animals and the overall positive experience, making it a favorite for families. However, some recent visits have noted a decline in facility upkeep and an unpleasant smell, with animals appearing dirtier than before.
"This was recommended to us. We visited mid week during school term in early September. There were only a few visitors there with us so it was like a private visit. On entry, you have to pay 1000 yen cash in the machine to enter the car park. Then for entry it is 1500 yen per adult. You pay at the machine which accepts cash or credit card. At the entrance you can buy a basket of food to feed the animals. This is a must as it was so much fun. Our favourite animal is the giraffe. They stick out their tongue for you to place a small piece of banana on it before eating it. They were so cute and bell behaved. A close second is the lemur. They do climb on you but we felt safe.
It has been a very long time since I last visited a zoo and I don’t remember it being such a nice experience like this zoo. The majority of the animals are free to roam and you get close and personal with them. They all look happy.
I definitely recommend a visit."

"Very good petting zoo. Tickets can be bought bundled at the elephant kingdom. There is also a shuttle bus between the elephant kingdom and sayuri world. Quite a fun place."

"We liked this place so much the first time that we decided to come and visit a second time. The second time was not as pleasant as the first. The facilities look as if they are not as kept up as before and the smell was awful. It’s fun to be able to pet the animals, but they were quite dirty this time around. I think if they provided brushes it would be fun to help keep the animals clean, especially the capybara and tortoises."
