Couple’s one night relax trip
I have a week off from work next week and I’m planning to go away from the city for one night with my girlfriend. Ideally I’m looking for something in the nature, with some massage or SPA kind of thing, a nice restaurant… basically being pampered and spoiled for a couple of days…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fushio Onsen Fushiokaku offers a traditional Japanese onsen experience with some rooms featuring private open-air baths and scenic forest views. While many praise the delicious kaiseki dinners and the tranquil setting, several guests noted the hotel's dated infrastructure and inconsistent room maintenance. Soundproofing can also be a concern.
"We booked a nights stay to experience a traditional hotel. The rooms were not maintained. Our room had rising damp in the walls. The whole building were outdated.
WE COULD NOT STAY AND PAID FOR ANOTHER ACCOMMODATION FOR THE NIGHT.
BE VERY CAREFUL IF CONSIDERING THIS HOTEL"

"The room does not match what the hotel advertises. We were hoping to get the room with an open air bath but instead we got a small room with twin beds on the floor. Very misleading. $300 a night is not worth it.
The ad says we would be served japanese tea. We were not.
Furthermore, they don't mention anything on the website that their onsen does not allow people with tattoos. Other places make it clear when their onsens do not allow people with tattoos.
Very disappointing."

"The stay was great and it was very value for money. The dinner was many courses, all which were delicious and the buffet breakfast had a good variety. We booked a room with the private onsen which had a good view of the autumn forest across the road. it was nice that the staff came in to prepare our futons. Shuttle buses from ikeda were helpful but you do need to reserve ideally. We did not and were lucky to have spots for it Our only issue with the place is that it is SO OLD. Like, old. I'm talking a buzzing elevator with actual like, clicky buttons that I've never seen before. The private tub could use a bit of scrubbing and some of the wood and door frames and handles look like they might be moulding. Don't get me wrong, the cleanliness of the place is good. But everything is just so old that it doesn't seem that way. Overall though, we really enjoyed the stay."
