One of my must-see spots of Ishigaki was the Blue Cave, which requires a decent walk and swim to get to. From there we went up north to see a few views including a charming lighthouse point.

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Blue Cave's stunning natural beauty and the vibrant snorkeling opportunities nearby, highlighting the abundance of marine life. However, some find the cave itself smaller than expected and note that reaching it can be challenging due to navigation difficulties and limited facilities. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience is considered highly rewarding and worth the effort.

"Very nice cave facing the sea but it's nothing compared to the amazing snorkeling site Infront of the cave.
You cannot really snorkel in the cave but you can walk around for around 10 minutes looking for sea snakes, coconut crabs and bats.

The snorkeling site Infront is absolutely beautiful! Lots of sea turtles, reef sharks, corals and huge amount of fish.
It's a bit complicated to snorkel if you do not know the place so taking a tour is recommended. Try to avoid the big tours companies as thy are quite bad and go with huge amount of people for only about 30 min in the water.

Try to avoid stepping on coral and use reef safe sun screen!"

"Beautiful place to spend the day (but only one restaurant close by and no shops, so bring what you need!). Very interesting caves behind the blue caves, too, with giant stalagmites. Lots of lovely little fish and sea cucumbers (and in deeper water we saw many people snorkelling). Don't walk in the seaweed, though! Do you see the picture? I almost stepped on it... a very camouflaged and highly toxic 2.5ft long seasnake!
Just stay on the sandy bits and don't be deterred by snakes (just cautious). It it is definitely worth a visit!"

"Interesting place, although it's smaller than I thought. The most adventurous part is getting there: First you need to find the small dirt road (exactly opposite the palm tree monument Park), then you need to travel it downwards without damaging your car from the underside (quite rocky), then a short walk to the really nice beach.
From there you wade through the water towards the right side (watch the tide, best go at lowest tide and wear water shoes!)
The cave is after the largest cliff, quite nice, and there is another beach a bit farther.
With kids, I'd only go at lowest tide and with no wind from northeast. We were in over our waist today, could manage with good shoes but it was an adventure because of wind and waves."
