What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Gushikawa Castle Ruins for its stunning ocean views and peaceful, reflective atmosphere. While the ruins themselves are simple, the historical significance and the picturesque setting make it a special place for quiet contemplation and enjoying nature's beauty. Some note the rocky terrain and limited parking as minor drawbacks.
"A beautiful seaside view of the southernmost gusuku in Okinawa. There is a very small parking area and the walk is about 50 yards to the view. There are some rocky portions, so I recommend closed toe shoes. There are also a ton of bugs so bug spray is a good idea. We stopped to explore here after the Ryukyu glass village. Worth the 8 minute drive down the road for a quick view.
-No bathrooms
-See QR codes on signs for English
-Be careful of potholes when parking
-There is a path down to the beach, but it's very dangerous. Roped off for safety concerns."

"Ruins of an castle.
If you have a way around, you can stop there and have a look ... it is for couple of minutes only.
There are narrow roads and very small parking place, but since it wasn't busy it wasn't a problem.
You can then drive to the cape where the parking is bigger and combine the two places in one trip"

"There was parking spot. It’s a very quiet place to say a prayer for people who lost their lives in tragic war. RIP"
