Visitors praise the Ikeda 20th Century Museum for its surprisingly rich collection of 20th-century European and Japanese art, housed within striking modern architecture. It's noted as a peaceful alternative to larger city museums, offering great value for its admission fee and a manageable visit time. Some find it a bit small, but generally, it's considered a worthwhile stop for art lovers.
"One of many small but surprisingly rich art museums dotting Japan. A legacy of wealthy industrialists from the 70s and 80s. The top floor is European 20th century masters and the bottom floor is Japanese artists from the same period, so you can see a lot of similarities in styles. It took us a bit less than an hour to cover it all. There's a small shop as well with good books. ¥1000 to enter."
Douglas Aberdeen

We went there late on a Sunday afternoon and were the sole visitors. Definitely a change from museums at Tokyo!"
