What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Izumisano Aozora Market for its incredibly fresh seafood and outstanding value, offering a more authentic and less crowded experience than larger markets. While the DIY BBQ and ocean views are highlights, some find the on-site dining a bit pricey compared to take-out options.
"Our group of seven immediately headed to the Aozora Fish Market right after landing. Despite arriving early and knowing that the eateries usually open around 11:00 AM, we were filled with anticipation as we explored other fish shops that were already open. The market's vibrant atmosphere and freshness of seafood quickly caught our attention.
We indulged in oysters, scallops, prawns, and sashimi, which felt like a seafood feast. Six oysters cost only ¥1000, and three boxes of scallops were also ¥1000, offering incredible value for money. The oysters were fresh and plump, and the scallops had a delightful elasticity, bursting with flavor in every bite.
This visit to Aozora Fish Market was not only a culinary delight but also a testament to the excellent quality and affordability of local seafood. Such a wonderful experience has heightened our excitement for the journey ahead!"

"Hidden gem alert! This fish market in Japan is a seafood lover’s dream—super fresh, straight-from-the-sea catch without the touristy chaos. Unlike the bigger markets, it’s calm, local, and way more enjoyable to explore.
You’ll find everything from sashimi, oysters, scallops, uni, to juicy clams—all beautifully presented and generously priced. Vendors are incredibly friendly and often throw in discounts before you even think to ask.
Grab a bite and chill in a cozy corner there, or stroll just 30 meters to enjoy your feast with a million-dollar ocean view. Absolute win!"

"30 mins walk from Rinku town or Odyssey Suites hotel Osaka. Relaxed walking, you will pass by a small quiet neighborhood. Before reaching there is a Lawson just 2 mins from the Pier. Adjacent to the market is a horse betting club. Once you arrive you will be greeted by a small building where the market is located. Probably 100 meters stretch. They sell fresh seafood which at great prices. They speak little bit of English enough to talk about prices. I've been told that you could bargain as well. Once your seafood is bought, you could ask them to clean it and then head up to the 2nd floor and rent a bbq pit for 1000 yen (I guess) and cook your food. Or you can simply buy cooked food at the small shop. They have 2 shops selling sushi and cooked food. Worth a visit if you are bored and in need for a walk.
The pics that I shared are the outside environment as the inside pics are shared by many."
