"From the moment we walked into the temple to the moment we left, we felt only positive energy and friendliness. We walked in thinking we would just quietly explore by ourselves, but a young man came up to us cheerfully and offered us a tour! He told us he was a volunteer. Even though we spoke English, he had no fear of showing us around. Despite not knowing Japanese at all, I still had so much fun. My companion could understand quite a bit and translated bits and parts and that’s honestly all I needed. The flowers have started blooming and smelled good. We learned that there is an old temple bell that is only rang once a year, there’s statues that represent the zodiac and other interesting things! Everyone seemed so excited to have foreigners at their temple. It was a very heartwarming experience and probably the best experience I had in Kakogawa. If the staff are reading this, thank you so much for making our experience so much fun! You guys are amazing!"

"I love this place!
I've taken 5 groups of students here because it has maintained a traditional feel, rather than one which is catering to tourism, as many temples & shrines have.
Be sure to appreciate the two statues at the front gate before you enter the temple grounds if you visit."
