"It's a completely half-baked place that can't be compared to Kyoto. There are a lot of shops aimed at tourists, but nothing particularly worth mentioning.

The shops start to close at 6pm, and it gets pretty quiet.

The bars close surprisingly early, and the snack bars are staffed by an aging workforce, which is quite sad.

It really gives the impression of being a seedy area.
