What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kanazawa Port Cruise Terminal is a modern and clean facility with a great observation deck and free Wi-Fi. However, it significantly lacks tourist amenities like shops and traditional Japanese restaurants, requiring visitors to travel into the city for these experiences. While convenient for accessing Kanazawa, it's primarily a transit point rather than a destination itself.
"This is a very huge port/cruise terminal with lots of business related meeting spaces and observation spaces. It has a nice huge covered open area to view the ships. It's actually a very very modern, clean and nicely designed building. There is a Western restaurant on the second floor you can order some colorful and fancy dishes, however no traditional Japanese dishes. This place could be better if there were more shops and restaurants inside for tourists to enjoy while they were docked in port. As a cruiser visiting the port, there is nothing much I could really do inside this huge facility. I couldn't even buy any souvenirs if I wanted to. I had to walk at least 15 minutes away to enjoy other Japanese restaurants. If you wanted to go shopping or to the JR station they offered a $20 shuttle from cruise ship to the JR station. It's unfortunate that they did not build more things for tourists to do within the station itself since it's so huge, or set up shops in the surrounding area. I think it's a lost business opportunity. They do offer free Wi-Fi in the facility, so any crew member, passenger or visitor can access the internet for free in the port building. There were a lot of shuttle buses and taxis available in the port so it was easy to transfer somewhere else if you need to."

"Very nice place to visit for a short break. The carpeted deck at the second floor is closed now for seminars which is very disappointing, I love this place just sitting and viewing the sea."
