"This is the well-known life-size bronze statue of Ryo-san from Kochikame.
It was erected in 2006, and there are now 15 of them.

Since many Kochikame readers and fans had been visiting Kameari Station even before then, the shopping district in front of the station proposed creating a Kochikame-related memorial in front of the station. Upon hearing this, original author Akimoto and Katsushika Ward provided funding, and the statue was erected at a cost of 3.4 million yen.
The bronze statue was made by a copperware manufacturing and sales company in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture.
The nearby Kameari Station North Exit Police Box was the model for the exterior of the Kameari Park Police Box in the original manga."
