"I have now understood how the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge was built. It was amazing to see the design, materials and efforts made into it during the planning and execution. How the bridge was designed to withstand a quake is impressive. It was great opportunity to have to put yourself in a time as if you were present during the building of this magnificent bridge, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. In 1994 when I boarded my first tanker vessel as a Deck Cadet seafarer, I have passed beneath this bridge and I can never forget the experience. Now, I am living in Japan and have even more enjoy its grandeur and have fully understood the nature of this beautiful bridge by visiting the Exhibition Center."
