What Travellers Say

While some find the garden size modest, its well-maintained landscaping and the overall tranquil experience on Mt. Rokko are highly appreciated. Access and cash-only entry are minor points to consider.
"Perched near the summit of Mt. Rokko, at an elevation of 865 meters, Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden is a haven where nature and tranquility coalesce. The garden masterfully utilizes the mountain's crisp climate, cultivating a rich tapestry of approximately 1,500 species of alpine flora, cold-resistant plants, and vibrant wildflowers from every corner of the globe. These botanical treasures are nurtured in conditions that mimic their natural habitats, allowing visitors to witness the beauty of global biodiversity in one enchanting location."

"These gardens are not super large, but well landscaped, and the autumn colours added to the appeal. It is also worth noting that the bus stop for the entry is at the park's highest part, meaning there are quite a few stairs to go down. But you don't have to leave the same way, as at the other end of the park you are close to the previous bustop anyway.
It is well worth a visit on the way to the ropeway cable car to Arima."

"Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden is not so large as Kobe Municipal Arboretum but the distance is not so much with few minutes drive to the West on Rokko Driveway. From 10 o'clock spending at the former place (parking fee is 2,000 yen) and taking lunch at the latter one(500 yen for parking) is a planning to kill all day.
Trying Hireso-shot with Olympus OM5 on a tripod, only 2 to 3 m breezing prevented me from good result. 4X magnification by means of Minolta MD Macro 100mm/f4.0 on MFT format invites unexpected difficulty to obtain High Resolution shooting, the period of getting accustomed to an inexperienced condition is required. In spite of countermeasure for close focusing by focusing rail, the result was so far from my initial idea. Overcoming the effect of Object Movement is the first---no wind condition such as flower house is ideal?"
