What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Koriyama Space Park for its unique space-themed elevator, stunning city views from the observation deck, and engaging interactive exhibits, making it a hit with families and space enthusiasts. Some find the tiered pricing for the planetarium and exhibit hall a bit confusing, leading to unexpected costs.
"A science center with a view from Koriyama tallest building by a huge measure. You have an entire view over the shinkansen tracks which is a must for rail fans. The science centre focuses on astronomy and space with pretty interesting exhibits! When we were there, there wasn't much visitors hence we accessed all the exhibits with ease. We even had a mini lesson on earthquake.
The main lift going up is also nicely animated as if you are going up to space."

"An interactive science space indoor exhibition with an observatory deck on the 22nd floor.
Even entering the lift was a special experience for my kid. The lift had sound effects and light effects that makes you feel you're entering a space ship. Once you've reached the 22nd floor, you can see the Koriyama from above. There's also miniatures, and educational games that my daughter enjoyed playing. All this was free, I think you need to pay only when you decide to enter the floor below and planetarium theatre."

"I think this museum was really interesting and fun to go to on a date or with kids. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because you have to pay 400 yen to go into the downstairs exhibit area and then pay another 400 yen to watch the dome shows for each show. The prices don't explain it very well, so my trip was 1600 yen instead of the 800 yen expected. I went with my husband, so the process reflect that. I was hoping to watch 3 of the 4 shows, but we choose to only watch the one because we would have to pay 1600 yen more. But I tried the Triple spin, which was fun and very forceful feeling against gravity, not like a roller coaster feeling at all! Also in the exhibit area, try the space shuttle ride! It's a game, like old school Star Fox with its spaceship graphics! Make sure to get their first in line and get the front middle seats for a chance to play! Also the mural in the kids play area is from the Japanese artist, Leiji Matsumoto, who worked on the art featured in some of Daft Punk's famous music."
