Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Ojima Ou Island for its unique natural beauty, particularly the mysterious Tatami Stones and the captivating Sea Turtle Museum. The 'electric pole in the sea' offers a quirky photo opportunity, and the island is a hidden gem for stargazing. Some find the island's attractions limited beyond these highlights, suggesting it's best enjoyed as part of a larger Kumejima itinerary.

"I went to Ojima Island for sightseeing, crossing the Shin-Oku Bridge from Kumejima Island. I will write about my experiences and impressions at each spot (sea turtle museum, tatami stones, electric pole in the sea).

First, about the sea turtle museum. In the large aquarium, which is the main exhibit, you can see the gracefully swimming sea turtles up close. You can also feed them, but you need to make a reservation. There was also a panel exhibit explaining the ecology and crisis of sea turtles, and I learned a lot of things I didn't know. I was also able to see a lot of shellfish exhibits, and I'm glad I visited with such a rich exhibit content⭐︎

Next, about the tatami stones. They have a mysterious pattern that looks like a turtle shell, and I was surprised and impressed that this was made naturally⭐︎ It was a rare view worth seeing. I visited at the time when the tide was low, so I was able to walk on the tatami stones and I think it was good to be able to observe the mysterious pattern up close.

Finally, about the electric pole in the sea. If you go to the front of Oha Island, you can see the electric pole that connects to Oha Island. For me, who is not used to seeing things like this, electric poles standing in the sea were a refreshing sight, so I took some photos before heading home. Although it was a short time, thank you for all the wonderful experiences."
