"A thoroughly enjoyable museum that is well laid out across three floors. It explains the history of the area, from fishing and animals to culture and transport. About two-thirds of the captions are in Japanese but there’s a fantastic online guide in English (and other languages) that can be accessed using a QR code and free WiFi. Definitely access this because almost every cabinet has a thorough explanation and the English is excellent. The gardens are nice and there’s a good view of the river/lake. Parking is free outside and there are toilets inside."
