"It's a beautiful historical building with a big, varied garden. On sunny clear days you can see Mt. Fuji in the distance. The original owner's information (the younger brother of the last shogun, who lived abroad as a child) is very interesting and there is a museum onsite dedicated to his story. I learned a lot about that period in history from the museum.
Also, at the bottom of the hill there area couple of good restaurants after your visit. One is the Thai restaurant, where I recommend not getting the set menu, because the food here is excellent but the set menu is kind of boring. The other is the traditional Soba place near the Lawson."
