"I visited the Hakkaisan Yukimuro (snow storage) facility in Uonuma. It was fascinating to see how natural snow is preserved even in the peak of summer and used to cool sake and shochu without electricity. The shochu aging cellar was especially impressive, with rows of bottles and barrels quietly maturing in the perfect environment. A brilliant blend of tradition, sustainability, and craftsmanship — highly recommended for anyone visiting Niigata."

Takeshi Kobayashi

"A snow storage facility that holds 1,000 tons of snow for aging sake & keeping vegetables. And also in the vicinity, there are shochu storage warehouse, tasting bar, cafes, groceries shop & kitchen general store. Plenty of snacks to enjoy & produces unique to this Uonuma or snowy country."

L Chan

"You have to select which tour slot you want as they only take 15 people for each tour. Tours are available at regular intervals.
The guide didn't speak any english, but still asked if we were comfortable with the tour being conducted in Japanese.
They have a sake tasting area, cafe and an outlet to buy souvenirs as well.
It's a bit cold inside the factory, so make sure you wear enough clothing layers."
