"A very pleasant little island (accessed via a small footbridge). There's a path around the island (islet?) taking one past a small temple and past striated rock formations in the water. As with many of the coastal attractions in this area, there are very few tourists (a pleasant change from places like Enoshima and Kamakura). It's a gentle walk, not taxing at all, and suitable for all ages. The sandy shoreline makes the walk unsuitable for wheelchairs though."

"Such a beautiful place!! Loved it here. There are several places to see in the area. There's Aoshima Jinja, the Devil's Washboard, Aoshima Beach Park & Miyako Botanical Garden. Defintely a must see place when in Miyazaki."
