Reviews Summary
Visitors find Kanabiki Waterfall to be a beautiful and accessible natural attraction, often praised for its abundant water flow and inclusion in Japan's top 100 waterfalls. While the narrow access road and basic restroom facilities are noted drawbacks, the small entrance fee and short walk make it a worthwhile stop for many, especially when combined with visits to nearby areas like Amanohashidate.
"What an amazing waterfall, easy to access from the city by quite difficult route to the waterfall by car( so narrow 500m)! 100 JPY for entrance is nothing at all! You need to visit the waterfall and relax when you visit Amanohashidate and Maizuru!"

"Nice falls although I don’t think it’s something special. Top 100 maybe. Quite a hike if I cannot drive up. Water is clean and fresh."

"Bathroom Info:
The bathrooms seem to have been updated somewhat recently. There used to be only a squat toilet, but now there are two western style toilets. Make sure to bring a handkerchief, because there's no towels to dry your hands. Might be a good idea to bring hand sanitizer as well, because there is no soap. The tap water from the bathroom says "Do Not Drink." The bathroom is close to the parking lot. There is no bathroom close to the waterfall.
Bring 100 Yen per person to pay the entrance fee by putting it into an honor system style fare box.
There are benches/pavilions in a few places, so it could be a nice place for a lunch. Just make sure to bring all of your trash home with you.
At the time of writing this ( November 2024) there is a detour to get to the parking lot because of construction.
The falls are beautiful and it only takes 5 or so minutes from the parking lot to go up there. Be aware that the stairs are steep and going on a day after it has rained could be slippery and dangerous, so it's better to go when the weather is dry."
