"The Nakatsugawa River flows through the center of Morioka city, and I feel that the bridges over the Nakatsugawa River (Kamihashi, Nakahashi, Shimohashi) are indispensable to the landscape of Morioka.
Morioka is a town surrounded by rivers, with the Shizukuishi River and Nakatsugawa River flowing into the Kitakami River.
The normal flow rate is not very high (but it can flood surprisingly during rainy weather), and the width of the river, including the riverbed, is just right for a river flowing through the center of the city.

The source of the river is deep in the mountains of Morioka, and the water from the stream is collected to form the Nakatsu River. It eventually merges with the Kitakami River.
