What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Eboshiyama Park for its stunning natural beauty, especially the vibrant cherry blossoms in spring and peaceful winter landscapes. The hilltop shrine offers great views, and the option for off-road exploration appeals to many. However, the park's distance from the station and scarcity of taxis, particularly in the evening, are recurring concerns.
"One of the highlights of our yearly visits to Akayu is climbing up Eboshiyama Mountain and enjoying a view of the surrounding area from the hilltop.
There is a shrine and some paths around the park but we prefer to wander around in the natural scenery "off road." For those who prefer a clearer path, there are stairs up the hillside and paths around the area.
Pro Tip
This is a very popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in the spring. That is excellent if a little crowded.
We prefer to visit in the winter when we basically have the mountain and park to ourselves. Eboshiyama Park is a great place for snowball fights. Do you want to build a snowman?
When the cold gets to be too much for you, find your way to the town centre for free foot bathing in the hot spring waters or visit one of the many day use hot springs."
