The affordable entrance fee and the charming presence of wild deer are frequently highlighted as major draws. "Beautiful view and a peaceful hike! The scenery from the top was stunning, especially overlooking Nara. A lovely place to enjoy nature and spot some deer along the way."

"Ticket is 150 yen per person. It's a very beautiful and calming place. We didn't go to the peak of the mountain and only stayed around the hill area, but the views are already very beautiful. Definitely much more worth visiting compared to the very crowded Nara Park. You can find deers around these areas too."

Mount Wakakusa is a highly recommended spot within Nara Park. The entire hill is covered with lush green grass, offering a serene and picturesque landscape.
Although the mountain stands at 342 meters above sea level, my step-counting app showed an elevation gain equivalent to climbing 48 floors, which likely reflects the actual ascent from the base to the summit.

Mount Wakakusa is only about a 5–10 minute walk from Tōdai-ji Temple, making it very convenient to visit both in the same day."
