What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the unique perspective offered by the glass-floored walkway and the chance to witness the powerful Naruto whirlpools. The friendly staff and convenient parking are also noted positives. However, some find the experience overpriced for a natural phenomenon, and ongoing renovations can sometimes obstruct views or limit access.
"Please note the Google hours mentioned are for summer and for winter they are earlier. Last entry is 4:30 m and it closes at five. It is at least a five maybe 10 minute walk from the top car park to where you buy tickets to go in. Parking cost ¥500 (we actually stayed in our campervan overnight and as long as you leave by 8:15 you won't be charged for the next day.
We stayed here overnight because we had dogs and there's a little walk you can do to an observatory and lookout point where you can look down towards the whirlpools so if you arrive out of hours, I suggest you try this. The toilets were open all night while we were there. Great view early morning when the car park is empty before it starts to get busy."

"I visited on 21 July and checked the tide schedule on the website in advance, picking the time for the strongest whirlpool that day.
The walk to the viewing area was much longer than expected, and the worst part was that we could not even go further in to see the main whirlpool area where the sightseeing ships pass.
Part of the bridge was under renovation and scaffolded, and the door to continue further was shut. I am not sure if it is always like this or if we were just unlucky that the bridge was closed halfway.
To make things worse, there was an unpleasant toilet-like smell along the way to the viewing point.
Overall, it was not worth the admission fee even though it’s inexpensive."
