What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Odotsu Port offers a refreshing glimpse into a working fishing community with beautiful scenic views, especially from Inozaki-hana. Visitors can enjoy local delicacies like bonito flakes and fish udon, and the port is a popular spot for fishing. However, some guests have encountered issues with the behavior of local anglers, and there are concerns about pollution impacting the natural beauty.
"In the morning, I saw local anglers throwing cigarettes into the sea and urinating 3 times out of 3 times. Even though the fishing spot is relatively large, they come right next to me and put pressure on me. The local old guys have extremely bad manners.
I only catch fish sporadically, and there's one of the most beautiful swimming beaches in Japan next door, so it's a shame to see them polluting the sea."

"A dozen years ago, I was transferred here for two years, and recently I've only been passing through. It's been a while since I've been here, but I finally got a panoramic view of the fishing port, 🏖️, and pine forest from the Inozaki-hana area.
Odozu Fishing Port is a town of deep-sea bonito and coastal fishing, and the bonito flakes and fish udon noodles made by the "sea-kid moms" are delicious. 😋
And the locally produced sweet soy sauce is delicious. 😋"

"It's a fairly large and beautiful port. There were several large fishing boats and many small fishing boats anchored or on land. There were no fishing nets in the port, so it seems that single-line fishing is the norm.
There were also fishermen. It's a refreshing port."
