What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mount Mitsutoge is highly praised for its breathtaking Mount Fuji views and rewarding hiking experience, though the climb can be challenging with steep, rocky paths. Visitors appreciate the unique photo opportunities, including the White Angel statue, and the option to dine at the summit cafe. Some note that cloud cover can obscure the main attraction, and the trail can be slippery when descending.
"Peak worth a visit. You can get most of the way there with a bus (just one a day in the morning from Kawaguchiko station).
There is a restaurant/hotel next to the peak where you can get a cup ramen for 500¥ or a freshly made ramen for 1000¥ which is actually really good. Definitely recommend it as a lunch break
Unfortunately the day we went up there was bad weather so we couldn't see Fuji but it was still beautiful even in the clouds."
Finite Trips
"For someone like me who seldom do hiking, 🥾 we took 2 hrs to go up. The trail has lots of huge stones and can be quite steep on certain area. When you are near the peak, they built some steps with stones landing. It was very slippery especially when you descend. At the peak, your can view Mt Fuji. After that, the descend took us 1hr."
