"August 15, 2025. Free parking. I was happy to find Akita's specialty parasol ice cream for 300 yen. Restrooms are also available.

At first glance, the beach looks normal, but it's very shallow, so it's safe. If you take off your sandals and walk around, you might encounter a lot of rough rocks in the water (though I didn't move them all, so I'm not sure).

It was hot and lukewarm that day, but this popular spot lets you experience the ocean vibe."

"Unosaki Coast, located in the southern part of the Oga Peninsula, is a shallow coastline that has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches. At low tide, the seafloor reveals a depth of approximately 200 meters. These layers were formed when submarine layers rose approximately 10 million years ago, and wave erosion created a unique washboard-like topography known as the "Devil's Sentakuita." On calm days, the shallows become natural pools at low tide, and the scenery reflected on the water's surface like a mirror has earned the coastline the nickname "Akita's Uyuni Salt Flats."

Oboko Rocks

These spherical rocks are scattered among the Oni's Sentakuita.

As the layers solidified, calcium from shells and other materials mixed with mud and sand, hardening them into what are also known as "nodules" or "concretions."

Mirror Phenomenon

At low tide, the shallows resemble natural pools, and on calm days, the scenery is reflected on the water's surface like a mirror.

Due to this beautiful scenery, it has been nicknamed "Akita's Uyuni Salt Flats.""
