Reviews Summary
Mount Sogaku is praised as a pleasant, beginner-friendly hike, ideal for day trips with convenient access. Hikers appreciate the natural beauty and the sense of accomplishment reaching the summit shrine. However, some sections can be steep, and the summit can be quite windy and cold, especially in winter.
"This is the second part of the Takamizu Sanzan hiking course. From the summit of Mt. Takamizu, there is a steep descent before a gentle ridge walk. Feel the wind and enjoy the refreshing autumn breeze and the scenery as you go. From the summit of Mt. Iwatakeishi, you can see the mountains of Oku-Musashi. Heading for Mt. Sodake, you will walk along the Kanto Fureai Road and then a long descent to Ontake Station. Holiday rapid trains depart from Ontake Station, so it is very convenient to get to Ome Station on holidays. Hiking in Okutama is a place you can continue to enjoy in all seasons."
