What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Wagyu IDATEN is overwhelmingly praised for its exceptional A5 wagyu, with many calling it a top dining experience in Japan. Diners rave about the melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich flavors of dishes like the oju boxes and wagyu sushi. The main drawback is the significant wait time due to its popularity and ticket-based system, requiring early arrival.
"Everything about this place is absolutely worth the hype. this is hands down my top 5 meals I've ever had. The chef is also so kind and amazing and you can tell he loves this place!
the wagyu sushi was unreal. So flavorful. Add the wasabi to it! The half/half bowl was so good. 10/10 no notes. The miso soup was also very good and light. We also got the 100g wagyu bowl. Additional meal was the beef tail which melted in my mouth in a way I didn't know was possible. The chef said it takes 3 days to make.
Just know you can not walk in and sit down. They have special reservation instructions where you have to line up to get a ticket which then tell you how long to wait. Lunch reservations starts at 11am and I arrived at 10:40 and was 24 in line. I only waited ~90 minutes to be seated"

"Worth the wait! Tickets open 1040H for lunch and 1600H for dinner. We arrived at 1045H and the lunch tickets were gone by 1055H. We were seated 1315H.
We got the Wagyu Roast Beef, the Half Grilled Yukhoe & Half Sukiyaki, and Wagyu Sukhoe. All the dishes were very flavourful and the meat was super tender. The ratio of meat to rice was ideal for my preference. We both felt that the Wagyu Roast beef was the better rice dish.
Staff were friendly. They provided a recommendation on how to eat the dish, and were proactive with filling our water once it ran out.
Sitting was limited, I would not recommend any party size more than 4.
Definitely worth trying when visiting Osaka.

Service: staff were very polite
Food: Ordered the A5 wagyu beef. The beef melts in your mouth and has an incredible smoky smell. I would definitely come back again .
Remember to queue early as it gets sold out quickly. We came at 5+pm on a Thurs night, and had to wait about 2.5hrs for our turn."
