"Morning view on the bridge"

Milan karki

"[A bridge was first built here in 1600. Along with Senju Bridge and Ryogoku Bridge, it was known as one of Edo's three great bridges.
After the bridge was washed away in a flood in 1688, it wasn't rebuilt and became the "Rokugo Ferry."
During the Meiji era, a new bridge was built in 1874 (Meiji 7), and was washed away three more times thereafter. A bridge rebuilt in 1925 (Taisho 14) survived until the postwar period of rapid economic growth.
In 1984 (Showa 59), five people died and 13 were injured in an accident during work to replace the aging bridge.]
I crossed Rokugo Bridge while walking along the old Tokaido road.
We were blessed with beautiful weather and the scenery was truly beautiful. There was a lot of traffic, of course, but the many people crossing on foot and by bicycle also made it truly one of Edo's three great bridges. I used to live in Osaka, and it reminded me of the Jusan Bridges. The width of the river, the width of the road, the volume of traffic, the number of people, the strong winds - it's similar to Juso Bridge (I used to cross it every day to get to work. This was about 40 years ago)."

"I passed this bridge while cycling across Japan.
This bridge crosses the Tama River, which is the border between Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures. When you reach the end of the bridge in the direction of Kanagawa, there is a prefectural border sign, giving you a sense of accomplishment.

Looking from the middle of the bridge, the cityscape on either side of the Tama River in the direction of Tokyo and the direction of Kanagawa is different, which was fun to observe.
