"On the afternoon of mother’s day, May 11, 2025, my wife and I came here for the first time. We meant to chase the cherry blossoms but we were somewhat late. Still, we found the Park beautiful and stayed until we felt the need to obey the calls of nature."

"Highly recommended to check out if you are in town. This was easily the best part of our day trip to Otaru. The walk (slightly a hike as it is uphill) to the park was refreshing, and the views from the top are absolutely beautiful. You’ll get to see the town, the port and all the mountain ranges both across the water and behind the city. There is a nice hill that people will picnic on while you can take in the views. This park is also full of cherry blossoms if you come during the season."

"Date of visit: 1st May 2023
Time : 9.15am
We came early to view the cherry blossoms. There are 2 stretches one along a staircase and the other on the slope which is not easily accessible.
We are very happy to see all white ones along the staircase.
A few people around and blessed with a beautiful sunny day perfect for photos and watching the cherry blossoms 🌸.
Parking is available but limited so it pays to come early. It’s not an easy accessible spot for those without cars.
A tranquil spot over Otaru and the coast."
