"Saikyō-ji (西教寺) is a temple in Ōtsu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, and serves as the head temple of the Tendai Shinsei of Buddhism. The temple is located not close to train station so recommend to visit by rental car. Temple is famous for Siege of Mount Hiei in 1571. The temple was later reconstructed with the help of Akechi Mitsuhide, whose grave is also in the premisis. Good view of lake Biwa."
