What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the modern architecture and vibrant atmosphere of Saitama New Urban Center, particularly the expansive Keyaki Hiroba and the impressive Saitama Super Arena. However, some reviews express concerns about neighborhood civility and past industrial contamination in certain residential pockets, suggesting thorough research for longer stays.

"I was looking for an apartment near Saitama City, but I turned this one down. It's inconveniently far from both Saitama-Shintoshin Station and Yono Station. There's a candy store in the neighborhood where people gather to smoke and park on the side of the road as much as they want, which doesn't seem good for children's education.
And on a rainy day, I was annoyed to see a resident-like person blocking the driveway with his car and arguing with a taxi driver who couldn't get through.
Maybe the people who live around here are not very civilized? A bigger apartment closer to Saitama-Shintoshin Station seems more convenient, so I gave up on this one."

"This is where the Nikken Chemical Omiya factory used to be. It remained vacant for a while after the factory closed. When the factory was in operation from the 1980s to the early 1990s, the smell of addictive, sweet chemicals filled the neighborhood. The nearby Mitsubishi Materials and Katakura factories also suffered from severe soil and groundwater contamination, so is this place okay?"
