What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Seijo Gakuenmae Station is a key point on the Odakyu Line, praised for its connection to Shinjuku and scenic routes. While the station itself has limited English signage and no platform barriers, its surrounding upscale residential area offers tranquility and a chance to spot Mt. Fuji on clear days. It's a convenient hub for exploring both urban and natural attractions.
"Owned by Odakyu, Seijogakuenmae station, is easy to navigate, with trains going up to Shinjuku in one direction, and down to the coast in the other. Handy for getting into town or visiting Hakone or the beach. The "romance car" train goes from here (you can reserve a ticket online or buy at the station); it's a step up from the normal tube train style but not quite up there with the shinkansen.
There are no safety barriers on the platform as (despite owning supermarkets and property) the company is not as wealthy as some of the others.
The romaji (English) appears only for a few seconds on the overhead boards, and there are no notices in English here (which can be a bind when there's an announcement of a change of platform or delay). Mostly, it's kanji displayed for a long time.
Going out of the station, above the supermarket opposite (top floor), you can get a reasonable view of Mt Fuji on a clear day. The area around the station (and leading down to the river to Toho Studios) is a good place for cherry blossom in the spring time."
